Meira's Puppies are Here!

The puppies were born by c- section August 25th- 4 boys and 4 girls. Mom is settling in and is doing very well as are all the babies. Just to add some fun, we always pick a theme to give temporary names to each litter. This litter was so big (originally 13) and with parents being Meira and Benny we decided to name these puppies "pepper" names. The boys are Anaheim, Ancho, Pimento, and Pepperoncini. The girls are Paprika, Cayenne, Chipotle, and Chili. Anyone making a selection out of this litter can look at it as "picking a puppy out of a peck of peppers!" Also I think you will find it helpful to distinguish the puppies as they grow. Please visit our boys page and our girls page to watch them as they grow. For those who don't know, GSPs are born white with the liver patches they will keep. As they mature the liver ticking appears. You can get a pretty good idea of how dark they will get by their feet. Pink feet will usually indicate that they will keep some of their white. Dark or "Inky" feet are usually a sign that they will be darker in color. I will be putting pictures up regularly so enjoy watching them grow and change.
At 2 1/2 weeks of age you can see how dark they are already becoming. The puppies are up on their feet and eyes are openned- getting to the really cute stage!
Sept. 28th- The puppies had their first exposure to birds. They are 5 weeks old tomorrow. sandy put a chuckar in a training sock and let the puppies climb all over it. Here are a few pictures to commemorate the event.
